Roy Bates served with a summons alleging the illegal use of a transmitter at Knock John Fort, contravening the Wireless Telegraphy Act of 1949

Radio Essex becomes BBMS (Britains Better Music Station)

21st October 1965 Disney purchases 27,000 acres of land in Orlando, Florida for $5 million to build a theme park .
