The only newspaper format publication devoted exclusively to offshore radio. It was a  publication covering news and programme schedules of all the 1960s British offshore stations, and appeared as a 4 page (later reduced to 3 pages) supplement to the National Advertiser/London Weekly Advertiser When publication ceased in March 1967 offshore radio content was transferred to Time and Tide

During the 1960s the magazine published articles and programme schedules for the British offshore stations. Time and Tide took over coverage of the offshore stations when Radio News ceased publication in March 1967.

Content covered all independent radio (including offshore). Gradually became more focused on Independent Local Radio (ILR) stations and separate editions were published for the initial 19 ILR stations.

After becoming part of the TV Times group it was published separately for a time then became absorbed in a new quarterly publication, Tune-In, but Radio Guide now covered only the ILR stations

After Script became Radio Guide in May 1975 and started to focus more on Independent Local Radio (ILR) Wavelength was launched specifically to cover offshore radio news.

Publication was suspended in January 1978 due to increased costs and the magazine never re-appeared.

Magazines and Newspapers were publications produced commercially or for commercial sale to a wide market.

Newsletters and Fanzines

were generally produced by organisations and supporters’ groups for circulation within their membership.

There may have been some overlaps, but we have tried as far as possible to put each publication in its correct category.
